            Role and importance of Market Intelligence, Market Intelligence Improvement scheme, basic concepts and definitions of Market Intelligence terms, Standardisation of price terminology, data collection methodology, agricultural price policy, statistical analysis of data.  Study of seasonal spatial and cyclic variations in prices. Index numbers, cost of Index number correlation.   Analysis and presentation of statistical data, gaps in data, Computerisation of Market Intelligence data.  Preparation of periodical Market Intelligence bulletins/reports/reviews.  Maintenance of Market intelligence data, cost and margin studies, dissemination of market information, supervision of the reporting agencies, measurement of market efficiency and a critical review of the Market Intelligence and News Service Scheme.

 

SEMINARS:   Each participant shall present a Paper on working of the Market Intelligence & News Service Scheme in his State for group discussion.

 

FIELD VISITS:    Visit to the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Nagpur or any near by market for practical training in collection and analysis of Market Intelligence data.

AUDIO VISUAL AIDS: Screening of films on various aspects of agricultural marketing, such as regulation of markets, storage, grading, packaging, processing etc., to improve the general awareness of the participants and make the training more absorbing.

 

EVALUATION OF THE TRAINING PROGRAMME:

To be carried out by the participants on the last day of their training in order to prove feedback information.
